This month Dave has produced a lovely set of pictures taken at the White Sand Dunes National Monument near Alamogordo New Mexico.
These dunes are in the heart of the Tularosa Basin, a mountain ringed bowl situated at the northern end of the Chihuahuan Desert. The monument covers 275 square miles and is the World's largest gypsum dune field. The conditions at the dunes continually change and any footprints are soon removed by the strong south westerly winds which blow across the area.
Dave has given us an insight into the way he prefers to photograph these on the gallery page.
The front cover picture was taken at 'The Wave' situated between Page and Kanab, further pictures of this area will feature in a later gallery
Please enjoy

January
Firstly a very Happy New Year to you all, I hope that you have plenty of plans for taking pictures in 2012. Let us all see them on your websites and if anyone out there would like to add a link from Dave's wesite please let me know.
Dave starts the year with some images taken in Dallas, Texas in 2011, and has given us an insight into his reasons for taking them.
I know that it will be difficult for him, in 2012, to produce a further 12 sets of images and 12 different subject matters - the first half of the year will probably prove easier but I guess in the second half he will be digging deep. He has promised me a slow water photography trip so I guess there will be some from that as time goes on. He is returning to Paris in January to continue his night photography theme, and has recently purchased a film panoramic camera which he want to play with. I have been promised use of it once he returns.
Please enjoy our first gallery of 2012
