February 2011

I hope you like the images in February Gallery, Dave is now hoping for more snow and haw frost so that he can visit other locations in Staffordshire and Derbyshire, it’s being in the right place at the right time and I’m never with him, as I have to go to school.

I would like to thank Irene Froy for her comments on February’s gallery.
Dave is hoping to visit Paris and Venice over the next couple of months, so you will be seeing shots from there later in the year. The idea is to get shots of Paris by night and Venice, not the Carnival but moody, misty slow water shots.

Talks in February are at Tettenhall Wood and Doncaster, he has never visited these clubs before and details of their websites, which give times and meeting places are given on the lectures and judging pages.

At the end of February, Dave along with many others is judging the Great British Small Print Competition, this is a relatively new competition run by West Cumbria Photo Group in association with Fotospeed. It is made up of 4 Salons: Arddangosfa/Exhibition of Photography, Carlisle International Exhibition of Photography, Hoylake International Exhibition of Photography and West Cumbria International Exhibition of Photography and is divided into 4 sections Small Print Colour Open, Small Print Mono Open, Small Print Colour Nature and Small Print Colour Photo Travel with the following awards being given in each Salon: PSA Gold for best of show, FIAP Gold, FIAP Ribbons and GBSPC Awards of Merit. The closing date is 5th February and full details can be found at www.westcumbriaphotogroup.co.uk under GBSPC.

This was the first exhibition in which I received an acceptance back in 2009 and last year I was lucky enough to have 5 acceptances.

I have now added the a log in page to the website so that you can register your interest and receive e-mails advising when I make updates to the site – please be sure to register.

Well that’s all for now, don’t forget that the more hits the website gets, the more pocket money I get, and with a new Epson printer to keep in inks I need the cash.
